After debuting on the US Billboard 200 at #1 with his ‘Cole World: The Sideline Story’ album, J. Cole has infiltrated the top 5 of the United World Album Chart. Although the record was unable to topple Adele’s omnipresent ’21′ LP, it was still crowned as the week’s 2nd-highest debut.
Adele has done it again. After a short stint away from the top of the United World Chart, the Pop/Soul singer’s ’21′ has returned to tally’s peak for a 23rd week and extended its lead as the year’s top-selling LP to date.
Adele’s ’21′ recently became the first album since 1993 to spend 30 weeks in the top 5 of the Billboard 200 but now she has achieved an even more impressive feat. The LP has captured the honor of being the fast-selling album in the world since 2004.
Adele never truly lost her grip of the United World Chart’s top spot; she simply took a break. The British Soul singer’s ’21′ album has returned to the chart summit for a 22nd week and quickly ended the reign of Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’.
