Mary J. Blige has been promoting her upcoming ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1)’ album across the UK and following her debut performance of ‘Need Someone’ on ‘Later…with Jools Holland’, she visited ‘Alan Carr: Chatty Man’ to discuss the project. However, Blige also used the opportunity to hint at her possible involvement on ‘The Voice (UK)’.
Set to debut early next year, ‘The Voice (UK)’ will also feature Jessie J as one of the four coaches. Blige affirmed that her spot on the panel has yet to be finalised but she is eager to join on the show.
Watch Blige’s interview on ‘Alan Carr’ below:
This could be a tremendous opportunity for Blige! Although she has enjoyed success in the UK, she is widely considered to be a local US act and has not had the massive impact of her more Pop-oriented counterparts, such as Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.
Furthermore, Blige has a lot of advice offer the young contestants because she has been in the industry for almost 20 years and is one of the most consistent artists in music. Besides, when it comes to understanding the unadulterated honesty of a voice, few can compete with Blige.
