Rihanna made history last week when her ‘We Found Love’ single topped the Billboard Hot 100 and this week it was Justin Bieber’s chance to leave his name in the record books. The latter’s ‘Under the Mistletoe’ entered the the Billboard 200 and became the 1st Holiday release by a male solo act to debut at #1 on the tally.
‘Under the Mistletoe’ has sold 210K in its first week of availability. Bieber not only became the 1st male solo act to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 with a Christmas-themed set but he was only the 8th artist in history to climb to the chart summit with such a collection.
Elsewhere, on the Hot 100, Rihanna continued to dominate her peers with ‘We Found Love’ for a 2nd week. In fact, the tune has brought the Pop star’s cumulative weeks at the top of the roundup to a stunning 36 weeks, therefore tying her with Beyonce. However, the latter achieved that feat with only 5 #1 songs.
Of course, Mariah Carey’s total number of weeks from her 18 #1 songs far outweighs her younger peers. Indeed, the diva has landed an awesome 79 weeks at the top – more than any other artist in history as well as more than Rihanna and Beyonce’s totals combined.

Mariah reigns supreme!
Rihanna continues to dominate the music industry at present. I hope TALKTHATALK lives up to expectations.
No one care about that shit nor MANriah. Bitch making songs with Bieber to stay relevant. BYE
Damn Trent You are good with this…..#PROPS
I don’t see the point of comparing Rihanna’s and Beyoncé’s total weeks at #1. Rihanna is certainly more popular now but I give credit to Beyoncé for achieving that amount of weeks with just 5 singles. JUST 5.
That’s way more relevant than Rihanna having 11 #1 singles since they barely stay on top.
Yassssss Mariah!
Congrats to Rihanna and Justin. Good for both of them. Now, if you look at the number of weeks at #1 from a mathematical standpoint, you’ll notice something…
Rihanna: 36 weeks at #1 with 11 singles — 36/11 = 3.27 weeks per single
Mariah: 79 weeks at #1 with 18 singles — 79/18 = 4.39 weeks per single (not really sure why she was brought up in this post, but it’s the writer’s prerogative)
Beyonce: 36 weeks at #1 with 5 singles — 36/5 = 7.2 weeks per single
So…yeah.
Of course Mariah is the best !!!!
Trent this site keeps getting better! I really love it!
Stop bringing up Mariah insecure sheep!
