Usher’s ‘Raymond vs Raymond’ album entered the Billboard 200 at #1 in April 2010 with sales exceeding 329K copies. However, despite the fact that he is predicted to top the chart again with his new LP, ‘Looking 4 Myself’, the singer will experience a sizable dip in commercial impact.
‘Looking 4 Myself’ is projected to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 with only 120K-130K copies sold. These figures represent a 200K decline in sales compared to those of ‘Raymond vs Raymond’ and a chilling 300K tumble from the 433K generated by ‘Here I Stand’ in April 2008. To date, those albums have sold 1.3 million copies in the US, each.
Thus far, Usher has issued three singles from ‘Looking 4 Myself’ – ‘Climax’, ‘Lemme See (Ft. Rick Ross)’ and ‘Scream’. The video for the last song, which has thus far peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100, premiered earlier today.
Usher also performed at numerous high profile events to promote ‘Looking 4 Myself’, including ‘The Today Show’ Summer Concert Series, the ‘Dance Central 3′ launch and the American Express UNSTAGED show. He is expected to hit the stage at the 2012 BET Awards on July 1st.
