Yesterday, it was announced that Adele will be performing at the 2012 Grammy Awards and now we have yet another name to add to the mix. Katy Perry has been tapped to hit the stage at the event that will air live via CBS on February 12th at 8pm ET.
If you have been observing the Billboard charts during the last year then might have concluded that Adele has never truly left the summits of the listings; she simply took breaks. As such, it was completely unsurprising when the singer topped the Billboard Hot 100 this week and effectively ousted Rihanna.
Almost every artist, especially those acts who emerged during the last 10 years, seems pitiful when compared to the enormous shadow of Michael Jackson. However, one particular act has become a favourite metaphoric punching bag of the critics who continuously seek ways to slam the younger generation. That artist is Katy Perry.
